Hi, I've tried searching for an answer but can't find one. I recently bought a syma x8c and it will now not take off. It wobbles badly but never leaves the ground. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? I'll try and attach a video. Thanks in advance, Josh

  • Issue#619: Radio Control - Down The Rabbit Hole From Drug Store Quad to a Modded Syma X8C

Attachment 8631112It all started for me around Christmas as I manage a 4 person group and I wanted to get a little fun gift for everyone. So I see a few nano quads at CVS pharmacy and think hey that could be fun. My nano breaks after a day and I am now hooked after 4 flights. I drive down to hobby people and see the Dromida Vista RTF UAV. Grey black and red they knew their target in me! I fly the vista in the parking garage at my apartment complex and really as a first actual quad it had a learning curve. After a few days and 10 or so flights I can fly it around the poles in figure eights and banking. I had a good crash and tried to recalibrate it but It wasn't doing it quite right and after a while I figured I have a bad motor. Sadly the store was all out of replacements. Feeling bummed and having to pick up my medication at Target I browsed the toy section and found the Sky Viper S670 Stunt drone for $49 dollars and since I was heading out of town for the holidays I bought it thi

  • Issue#138070: Radio Control - Syma X9 Flying Car

There have been several attempts to create a combination RC car and quadcopter. Most of the previous attempts were less than impressive. Syma has entered into the RC car/drone arena with their Syma X9 Flying Car. Syma claims the X9 is a good RC car and a good flying quadcopter. Battery Superstore sells this quadcopter on Amazon. They were kind enough to provide their "Tenergy Excluisive" Thunder Blue version for me to review. Mine came with an extra battery. Not sure if this is standard or not. Customers on Amazon have given this special edition of the Syma X9 Flying Car a rating of 4.4 stars out of five. Description • Syma X9 RC Flying Car • Fast and slow speed mode • LED light: Suitable for flying in the dark at night. • 2.4Ghz radio • 4 Channels • 6 axis gyro for easy control • 50 meter range (approx) • Battery charging time of 95 minutes • 3.7V 600mAh li-po Battery • Flight time of 5 minutes • Transm

  • Issue#315262: Radio Control - Activate GoPro video from a Syma X8C transmitter

I've settled on ordering a Syma X8C since they are the cheapest price in the X8 lineup. My plan is to install my GoPro Hero 3 in place of the 2 MP camera that comes with it. Has anyone found a way to adapt the existing 2 MP camera's interface to work with the GoPro to allow remote start/stop of video recording or taking pictures from the transmitter?

  • Issue#323778: Radio Control - Syma X8c Set Up With A RunCam

I finally purchased a RunCam version one to use with my camera carrying capable quadcopters.Works great and frees up my SJ4000 so I can capture aerial and ground video at the same time, pretty cool. The mic seems to pic up a lot more sound then the SJ4000 does so I get a lot more motor noise in video, anyone know if the mic can be disabled? For now I can edit it out with some youtube music, not my favorite thing to do as I do like to hear the machine running and stuff during flight videos,I will have to work on that.My Syma X8 git to have the honors for the first RunCam flight:cool: Syma X8c With Runcam Video Footage (7 min 27 sec)

  • Issue#355536: Radio Control - Syma X8C controls

Hopefully I am posting in the right spot. I recently bought this quad but was unable to get in any flying time until today due to spring weather conditions. On the top of page 6 of the manual Syma references the controls to fly sideways and rotate, left stick being to rotate left or right and the right stick to fly left or right. Well I have found that those are opposite of what my quad does, left stick flies left or right and right stick rotates left or right. Can someone tell me if the manual is in error or if I have a controller that is wired wrong and how to fix this. Thank you Dave

  • Issue#386651: Radio Control - Faster charging of Syma X8C batteries - What charger?

Hi folks, I'm a new X8C owner based in Scotland, UK and completely new to RC flying. I have a couple of questions on charging the Syma X8C batteries and batteries in general. The standard charger supplied with the X8C takes nigh on 200 minutes to charge. I read that there are chargers which are capable of charging the battery a lot quicker than this, can someone point me in the right direction so I know what to look for? Also - what batteries would people recommend to use with the X8C? Is it possible to purchase extended duration batteries or something similar? Or is it better to just buy say 3 or 4 standard batteries and keep them all charged? Many thanks indeed for any advice. :)

  • Issue#561065: Radio Control - HuanQI H899, another syma X8C competitor (in early construction)

INTRODUCTION Here is a new Syma X8C competitor, i.e. a new 350mm brushed quadcopter able to carry a GoPro action cam with eventually a lightweight gimbal system. The new model is the HuanQI H899 direcly and largely inspired from the Syma model. This modele includes a 720p camera broadcasting live a video link via WiFi. BOX CONTENT + 1 x HuanQI H899 (with a 2S 2000mAh LiPo with HXT 3.5mm connector) + 1 x Transmitter (using 4xAA batteries not included) + 1 x Charger + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 4 x Prop guards + 1 x Camera mount + 1 x Phone/tablet mount + 1 x 720p/WiFi camera + 1 x Instruction manual (English/Chinese) OVERVIEW It's really amazing how the Syma X8C is directly cloned with the HuanQI H899. Good news, the plastic canopy is flexible and seems robust to absorbe basic crash. Probably landing feet are the weakest point of the structure. -Front view -Side view -Rear view -Upper view -Bottom view -Weight Props &

  • Issue#592194: Radio Control - has anyone resolved the infamous JXD 509G binding issue?

Hi everyone, been having a blast ever since i received my jxd 509G. a home made cloverleaf antenna on the fpv receiver has breathed new life into this thing! but in the last few days i've started having binding issues... after the binding procedure the LEDS keep blinking for a while and then they start blinking very quickly, like a strobe effect. it seems like it isn't binded at all but if if bring both sticks down and in the LEDS on the quad start flashing as if i'm calibrating the gyro!!! but it stil won't start, and no other buttons work either (lights, video...) what is this all about!?!?! it can take me SEVERAL attemps before i am finally able to bind. always seems to be a crapshoot. so i've read about this issue a lot but wasn't able to find a definitive fix or procedure... what is your experience with this? i want to get this right from the start!!! thanks!

  • Issue#631852: Radio Control - Bayang X16, the cheap Syma X8C brushless ? (in early construction)

INTRODUCTION Bayangtoys delivers with the X16 their first brushless model, a 350mm machine so strong enough to carry easiy any GoPro. With the Bayang X16, they used the same 350mm chassis than the X15 but replaced all brushed motors with some strong 2204 brushless motors. Of course all electronic have been upgradated consequently with the introduction of ESC. The X16 is announced to be pretty cbeap (around 100 USD w/o shipping) so the objective here is to be a direct competitor of the SYMA X8C with a real brushless model. BOX CONTENT + 1 x Bayang X16 (with a 3S 2200mAh LiPo with HXT 3.5mm connector) + 1 x Transmitter (using 6xAA batteries not included) + 1 x Charger + 4 x Spare props (2 CW, 2 CCW) + 1 x Screwdriver + 1 x Wrench prop tool + 1 x 720 camera + 1 x microSD card reader + 1 x 4GB microSD card + 1 x Instruction manual (English) OVERVIEW Maybe slightly inspired by some walkera's product, at least the design is no more a new direct cloning of the Syma X8.
